THE MISSION

FOSTER THE LOVE MINNESOTA'S MISSION IS TO SUPPORT AND SERVE THE FOSTER COMMUNITY OF MINNESOTA.

THE CHALLENGES AND JOYS OF FOSTER CARE, REUNIFICATION, AND ADOPTION ARE MANY.

WE ARE HERE TO SUPPORT YOU, WHEREVER YOU ARE IN THAT JOURNEY.

The main way we do this is facilitating placement bag drives to donate to children entering foster care.

When children are removed from their homes, it is often quickly and there is little to no time to grab any belongings.

Anything they bring with them to the foster home is most often in a trash bag.

We want to provide them with a backpack that is filled with items that are both practical and let them know they are important and not forgotten in the midst of this difficult journey.

See our MAKE A PLACEMENT BAG link for more information.

Who We Are

Katie

My story has given me a passion for the safety, love, and care of little ones and others who are the most vulnerable among us. I am a nurse working in Minneapolis, as well as a licensed foster care provider in Hennepin County.

My sister, Kelly Hughes, started the Foster Love Project in Pittsburgh, PA after seeing the need of organizations like this after being a foster parent for several years. She is one of the inspirations behind Foster the Love Minnesota!

We are [literally] sister organizations. =)

OUR CHURCH AND BUSINESS SUPPORTERS

Without your help, we couldn't reach out to foster and birth families in meaningful and tangible ways.  Our Foster the Love MN Team is so grateful for your partnership in ensuring that these children and their families know that someone loves them and wants to build a relationship with them!
