HOW TO BECOME A FOSTER OR RESPITE PROVIDER
The need for loving foster homes in Minnesota is great. Over 11,000 children are in the foster care system in our state, making foster homes and shelters overcrowded. Some children are sent back
to their families before they are ready due to lack of housing for them.
Not everyone can be or should be a foster parent, but it is something that we can all carefully consider. There are many challenges and joys in caring for these young ones. If you would like to talk to someone
about the potential of fostering, email us and we would love to connect you with someone in your area.
Not yet ready to jump into fostering just yet, but still want to open your home for shorter periods of time? Consider becoming Safe Family through Together For Good or Safe Families.
Who are some of these kids? Check out videos at the Reel Hope Project or find bio's on kids at MNAdopt.
The first step in becoming a respite or foster provider is attending an information class in your county or through a local foster agency like Bethany Christian Services.
