The Need

We have seen, heard, and experienced story after story of children showing up on the doorstep of a foster home with a trash bag in their hands. It breaks our hearts. This sends the message that they are disposable, that no one cares. We want them to know they are loved & they are worth more than a trash bag! We hope these young ones feel that in some small way through these placement bags.

Thank you for being here and partnering with us!

HOW TO MAKE A PLACEMENT BAG

Putting together a placement bag is a joy! Choosing the items is completely up to you! You can go to any store you choose.

All items must be brand-new and we ask that all tags are left on.

WHAT TO INCLUDE IN A PLACEMENT BAG ::

brand-new backpack or zippered duffel bag
1 pair of pajamas or 1 outfit
socks, underwear
stuffed animal
small blanket
book
toothbrush/toothpaste
bath soap (please place in ziplock bag)

If there is still room in the bag and you would like to add other items, you are most welcome to do so!

SUGGESTED ADDITIONAL ITEMS ::

water bottle
age-appropriate games or toys
additional clothing
seasonal wear (mittens, hats, scarves, bathing suits, etc)

ONCE YOU HAVE COMPLETED THE BAG ::

*Print the letter to the caregiver, sign it, and feel free to include your church or business affiliation.

*Print the letter to the child and have those who packed the bag sign it.

Attach these along with the tag to the backpack.

Bring it to one our DROP OFF SITES if it is during a bag drive; otherwise, email us at fosterthelovemn@gmail.com and we can work out a plan to pick it up!
